Rope operated mechanical grabs

Over the years Verstegen developed a wide range of range of grabs.
The grabs are  designed for a specific group of bulk materials. Hereafter the different grab models are shown.

Clamshell grabs
Clamshell grabs can be used for almost all bulk materials. Verstegen has developed grab models, especially designed for the most common bulk materials, like coal, ore, clinker, fertiliser and agribulk. For bulk materials with specific properties there are special solutions avalaible.
Orange peel grabs or cactus grabs
Verstegen offers a wide range of orange peel grabs. There are special model orange peel grabs for various types of scrap, pig iron, rocks and stones and wood chips. Verstegen orange peel grabs are available for cranes from 10 to 75 ton.
Trimming grabs
Trimming grabs are used for handling coarse and difficult to penetrate materials . The grabs are normally used for handling materials like pig iron, HBI stones and other coarse materials. The horizontal closing path of the scoops makes the grabs also very suitable for environmental dredging.
Single rope grabs (radio control grab)
For single rope dockside cranes and ship board cranes, Verstegen single rope grabs can be a good solution. After hooking the grab to the crane, it is ready for operation (without any adjustments to the crane). Verstegen single rope grabs can be delivered with three different opening systems.
Dredging grabs and digging grabs
Verstegen has a long history in building grabs for underwater operations. There are different grabs for maintenance dredging and underwater digging work. For extra hard layers there are Verstegen heavy duty digging grabs with teeth.
